Supplier Quality Engineer, Brose North America, Auburn Hills, MI. Assure and approve quality of suppliers involved in supplying raw materials (resins), rubber, and plastic injection molded subcomponents including door carrier plates, cable drum housings, Bowden cables, brackets, rail slider plastics, and moldings, from Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) through product lifecycle including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) subcomponent releases for mechatronic door systems for passenger vehicles, using SAP Quality Management (QM), Production Planning and Control (PP), Logistics (LO), Material Management (MM) modules. Prepare and create quality-gate reports including gaging concepts according to Brose Product Development Process (PDP) and supplier systems and methods development progress. Analyze and release project-specific Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs) and German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) documentation after development with production part suppliers. Required travel in U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Germany, to audit suppliers including machine capacity, component drawings, PPAP readiness, raw material status, logistics packaging verification, and tooling, up to 15 weeks per year (equal to 29% annual travel). Bachelor, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related. Twenty-four months' experience as Engineer or related, assuring or approving quality of suppliers of rubber and plastic injection molded subcomponents, from Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) through Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) subcomponent releases for passenger vehicle system, using SAP Quality Management (QM), Production Planning and Control (PP) modules, or related.
