Comerica Bank Business Loan Center Originations Manager in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Business Loan Center Originations Manager The Business Loan Center Originations Manager is responsible for managing Comerica's underwriting team for high volume, lower dollar small business loan requests meeting established service level agreements for turn-times and accuracy. This position oversees the underwriting process that supports Comerica's national footprint with standardized products and underwriting principles, while following Comerica's Credit Policy, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements. This position's office location will be moving to Farmington Hills, MI Position Responsibilities: Responsible for the underwriting including rendering approval decisions and finalizing risk ratings of commercial loan requests for Retail and other commercial lending business units on a national basis in a high-volume environment. Individual unilateral lending authority up to $1 million individually and up to $1.5 million jointly with other management members. Ensure quality documentation and decisioning occurs in team environment. Recommends credits for special review. Assigns accurate risk ratings for all exposures. Manages daily workflow using reporting and compliance with volume, turn-time and quality SLAs. Identify and implement process improvements to gain efficiencies. Administers appropriate reporting and controls to provide status on applications to customer segments. Provides consultative support to sales channel on underwriting, structuring, and documentation. Develops underwriting team to make strong credit decisions. Maintain effective relationships with all key partners; Retail Small Business Banking, Retail banking center managers, other commercial lending business units, Product Management, and Credit Administration to resolve customer service issues, develop competitive products, provide training, while delivering quality credit decisions. Hire, train, and mentor team. Establish employee Performance Management Plans (PMPs) and one-on-one developmental plans. Seeks out industry trends and improvements for small business loan centers. Leads and participates on project efforts for technology and process efficiencies. Manages regulatory risk and compliance, coordinates group compliance with internal audits, loan reviews, and federal examinations.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 8 years of commercial lending experience 2 years of supervisory experience, including staff development Completion of a formal Credit Training Program Previous loan approval authority experience preferred

Oaktec Building 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.  This position includes onsite and remote work days.
