A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Maintain and make minor repairs to structures and grounds.

  • Mow lawns, trim shrubbery, rake yards and performs general housekeeping duties.

  • Observe station equipment such as switchboard and yard lights to note abnormal conditions.

  • Record and report conditions in unattended stations in a given area.

The essentials

  • Experience using common hand tools and methods used in structural and yard maintenance work.

  • Valid CA Driver’s License.

  • Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and traverse on uneven terrain.

  • Able to perform heavy manual labor, climb ladders, and platforms as necessary.

The preferred

  • Experience reading simple gages and instruments.

  • Able to follow oral and/or written instructions/directions.

  • Experience with gardening and/or janitorial duties.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • General electrical and/or mechanical knowledge.

  • The primary work location for this position is Big Creek. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work locations.

  • Position may require travel and being out in the field.

  • This position may require extended long work hours dependent on operating/weather conditions.

  • This position works a set work schedule of 7\:00AM – 5\:30PM (4/10 work schedule).

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests\: EEI Mass Test(Test #5105). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
