About you :

We are looking for a transformational leader with hard and soft skills who encourages and mentors the team in facilities. Will oversee creating a motivated team, which consistently increases their knowledge, skills, and ability, as well as doing teamwork to design our future facilities.

Purpose of the role:

  • The Facilities Manager has the responsibility for Tequila manufacturing sites in Mexico, Agriculture Bases and Offices located in Guadalajara with an estimated total operating budget of GBP 20MM.

  • Ensure a safe and hard-working environment for Diageo’s employees, visitors, contractors, and customers through effective implementation of facilities management operational strategies and management of facilities site staff.

  • Leading and running the facilities team (insource/outsourced) of 140 employees across all Tequila & Mezcal Category and Office in Guadalajara, 23 direct and 140 contractors.

  • Lead, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the site facilities management teams that provide services such as transportation, food, builds utility infrastructure maintenance, etc.

  • Build a positive relationship with Strategic FMI vendor supporting facilities and real estate services.

  • Support main operation projects in each market.

  • Build management reports, according to Manufacturing Excellence standards and guidelines for Operations Governance and Escalations.

  • Ensure implementation of Diageo’s compliance agenda including Health and Safety and quality standards.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Support the business with a Site Master Plan for land acquisition and real estate and space utilization resolving model fits the market needs.

  • Accountable for Fleet Category into Diageo Business in both scopes Benefit for employees and tool Cars (+ 120 Vehicles under scope) Maintenance Mgmt and Mgmt relation with 3rd party partner responsible for leasing and assignment according to business needs.

  • Establishes a single point of accountability and governance for facilities maintenance function in Tequila and Mezcal at Mexico Manufacturing Sites, Agriculture Bases, and Tequila / Mezcal Offices.

  • Driving the strategic direction of Facilities.

  • Delivery performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost) Facilities Maintenance, and Morale.

  • Proactively influence the business area Capex agenda and own/lead at the site level. This role is an important customer of all Capex spend.

  • Primary contact for utility suppliers, working with the Compliance team to set expectations for improvement for suppliers and monitoring their performance.

  • Builds a strong working relationship with Operations Manager(s), Asset Care Managers, and Human Relationships.

Experience, and qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering.

  • Eye For Business, negotiation, purchasing/procurement, and international negotiation skills

  • Customer service and people orientation

  • Sound and proven financial acumen

  • 10 years of experience in any of the following areas: Real Estate, Facility Management, Procurement, Project Management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity

  • Strong leadership demonstrated through engagement and relationship building at all levels

  • Highly motivated, driven, proactive individual.

  • Ability to problem-solve

  • Full English proficiency is needed.

Desirable:

  • Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills learned through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or Manufacturing Excellence

  • SAP (or MRP systems), Planned Maintenance, Environmental, and Quality systems

  • Knowledge of local Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and controls.
