How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) Test Automation Engineer is responsible to support and maintain the end to end (E2E) test environment and perform associated system test activities with a focus on test automation. These activities include the development of system test plans, processes, and procedures in order to integrate, verify, and validate system functionality and performance. This position serves the system test engineer who will directly perform testing and integration activities to ensure a seamless product launch. This person will work in coordination with the IFEC GM E2E System Test, the IFEC Chief System engineer, the IFEC Chief Architect, and the IFEC Program Management team to ensure that the IFEC products are both verified and validated.
Key responsibilities:
Define IFEC E2E system test automation based
Develop IFEC E2E system test plans, procedures
Participate in design review meetings to ensure testing specifications and results
Support Customer Experience, IT, and TechOps teams with IFEC system launches
Support and maintain System Integration Lab(s) (SIL) that represents the aircraft system(s)
Work alone performing test procedures, developing test plans, and developing software automation code and scripts
Work well with customers when supporting user acceptance testing
Enter test procedures/plans/results in Microsoft Office products(Excel/Word) or qTest
Understand basic networking for LAB connectivity needs In support of the test manager
Analyze system requirements and architecture docs to create test procedures/plans
Install software on test lab equipment & troubleshoot any issues
Create system test automation using various software tools
Perform system tests & report results
Coordinate with other Delta departments that provide support for the products tested
Participate in on-wing testing
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelors degree or 3+ years relative experience in system test, IVV, or QA testing
3+ years of experience as part of a test, IVV, or QA team responsible for test automation and test runs
2+ years of experience with connectivity and in-flight entertainment (IFE)
Some travel to different test locations (Domestic & International)
Must be able to lift approx. 50lbs of lab equipment as necessary
