The Sustainability Finance Reporting Director II is an expert on global ESG regulatory requirements and reporting, who drives end-to-end process documentation and controls, global level sustainability data and disclosures across the organization. This role involves identifying potential risks, developing expertise in trends, frameworks, and sustainability regulatory requirements. Responsible for formalizing and modernizing ESG processes and controls and ensures the organization's disclosures are accurate, well-controlled, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Background and Experience:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Possess and continually develop expertise on Global ESG trends as well as lead strategies to align with upcoming regulatory requirements related to sustainability and corporate governance. Monitor regulatory developments and advise the organization on necessary adjustments and compliance measures. Review both public and internal ESG disclosures to ensure that information is produced within a well-controlled environment, thereby mitigating risks of material misstatement. Coordinate cross-functional efforts by acting as a liaison between ESG-related functions to implement regulatory alignment strategies effectively.

    1. Regulatory Compliance Management: Oversee and manage sustain ability-related compliance activities, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant domestic and international regulations, guidelines, and standards related to ESG.
    1. Compliance Reporting: Responsible for the preparation, review, and submission of mandatory sustainability regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
    1. Policy and Procedure Development: Review and implement policies and procedures that facilitate compliance with sustainability regulations. This includes creating guidelines for data collection, analysis, and disclosures.
    1. Reporting System Infrastructure: Provide oversight of the sustainability reporting system infrastructure and liaise with Digital Technology Services (DTS) and ESG teams as needed to ensure data quality, standardization and continuous improvement to optimize processes in addition to automation.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee team efforts to ensure consistent and effective data management practices. Ensure all initiatives are financially sustainable and aligned with the organization's strategic goals. Facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development across departments.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of regulatory alignment and initiatives. Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant entities. Engage with cross-functional teams to drive the integration of initiatives into business operations.

  • Partners and develops strategy together with Finance Hub to: Define the 'paths to reporting' for specific metrics required for disclosure; Design data validation processes that meet assurance standards; Assess risk and remediate identified gaps to meet phased reporting timelines; and

  • Develop the capability of global teams to meet sustainability reporting requirements.

  • Partners with and supports global functional SMEs (i.e., Technical, HR, PACS, Legal) in articulating disclosures based upon quality data reported and sourced from various business facilities (>2k) and legal entities (<>300, depending on required reporting boundaries).

  • Partners with bottlers where applicable to obtain value chain information, support 'system' reporting consistency, and share best practices as well as technology-related improvements.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for regulatory compliance to include enhanced decision making incorporating financial modeling and scenario analysis for climate related risks. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in regulatory alignment and best practices. Ensure all initiatives align with the company's values and enhance its reputation as a socially responsible organization.

Skills and qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry or Big 4 highly preferred, including Financial Reporting, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, and Internal Controls

  • Expertise in Global ESG related disclosures and industry trends, and willing to develop advance expertise across evolving regulatory landscape

  • Strong communication skills and comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within the finance function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS/Local GAAP as discipline basis for statutory reporting

  • Thought leader to help drive the evolution of the sustainability reporting space globally, leveraging external learnings and industry applications --- from transition state to operational state, aligned with the timeline for compliance as requirements dictate (i.e., phased approach across a number of years).

  • Influencing and partnering with various stakeholders (both senior leaders and junior team members) including third parties to align expectations, timelines, deliverables, and priorities amidst multiple demands, time pressures, and business changes, are critical to be effective in the role. Having an enterprise mindset in the approach to work will be critical.

  • Demonstrating strength in solving complex problems, ability to drive actions from analyses and insights , good judgment, and decision-making competencies are key success traits. Exhibiting leadership and growth behaviors (i.e., curiosity, empowerment, agility, inclusiveness), being solution-oriented, communicating effectively, and upholding an environment conducive to high performance are imperative.

  • Adaptability and innovation: Ability to adapt to changing business environments and implement innovative solutions to improve financial processes and decision-making.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
