SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Infrastructure & Technology Operations, the Sr. Architect for Global Engineering will be responsible for leading the team that provides design, planning, & build support across the globe, across server & network platforms in the public cloud, as well as Server Rooms and all equipment therein. The role includes input into the strategic direction and development of the cloud infrastructure to support GPI systems, as well as coordination and resourcing of the subsequent projects essential for their implementation.
Preparing 5-year roadmaps in support of the above technologies is a vital & essential requirement for this position. The position will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy around GPI’s technology platforms, partner with other IT leaders in the business to enable productivity and work closely with the team that manages the execution of the strategy.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
Partner with IT leaders to formulate the cloud technology infrastructure strategy and create and maintain the standards for the environment.
Focus on leveraging public cloud-based technologies and formulate architecture roadmaps to enable the shift from on-premises to a multi-cloud environment.
Establish a sustainable IT DevOps model by driving a mature solution architecture aligned with industry best practices.
Assess and recommend public and hybrid Cloud solutions, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). and drive the continuous improvement and upgrade of the environment.
Work multiple priorities and projects across different technology and process disciplines.
Working in cohesion with the architecture teams to develop an overall infrastructure platform & network strategy to ensure that all current and future business requirements are fully supported.
Work with managed service providers to ensure operations are being managed, while strategically driving their efficiencies and improvement.
Ensure all Cloud/Server/Network environments are fit for purpose, regularly checked for any operational issues and maintained in a manner that ensures high availability that meets defined requirements.
The platforms supported include, but are not limited to; Azure, SAP, Cisco, Zscaler, Rubrik, NetApp Cloud Storage, and local environments hosting various operating systems including but not limited to Windows, and Linux.
Develop & design future solutions and improvements for suitable backup and disaster recovery solutions to meet the business needs of the applications running on the infrastructure. This may range from simple daily backups moved off site to a full Disaster Recovery solution to cloud-based backup technology.
Work with cross platform technical teams and the managed service providers to identify gaps, execute remediation plans, streamline processes and coordinate all technical level and service delivery support activities. Providing technical support in the diagnostic and restoration of various components of the hosting & network platforms.
Engage in the Enterprise Architecture governance model as part of the Global Technical Review Board and manage new technology introductions.
Coach and inspire a team of technology professionals and the managed service providers to exceed their potential.
Deliver infrastructure projects on time and on budget on a consistent basis through the various managed service providers.
Work with the managed services providers, from a vendor management perspective to develop and deliver global operations monitoring dashboards, troubleshooting and escalation mechanisms for on premise and cloud-based systems.
Who You Are:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
4+ years total experience in any public cloud environment, including time spent in a 24/7 high-availability multi-site global enterprise environments, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection.
2+ years successful track record of working with managed service providers to create a high performing team that delivers on operational priorities.
Strong working knowledge of complex network environments, including Operational Technology (OT) networks.
Well-versed with cloud architecture styles, edge computing, and design patterns.
Experience with cloud governance and best practices for Role-Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, and Cost Management controls.
Strong Working knowledge of Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps.
Experience in developing cloud migration approaches, defining migration roadmaps, and providing estimates.
Proven experience in DevOps, IaC, and Agile frameworks and philosophies.
Experience transforming infrastructure environment from traditional, in-house centric models to global, distributed and multi-cloud centric architecture.
Strong ITIL and governance background.
Pay Range: $139,575.00 - $186,100.00
