Inspire Brands Scrum Master in Atlanta, Georgia

The Scrum Master will act as a project leader and Agile mentor for their assigned teams by actively coaching cross-functional team members (Dev, QA, BA, Architecture), Product Owners, and Product Managers to achieve best practices within the Scrum methodology. They will also facilitate the Agile methodology and all required activities, as well as provide a vision and strategy for Agile practices within their team; coach and calibrate its members; and enable a culture of continuous improvement for the organization.

This individual will need to possess deep knowledge and understanding of project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

This position sits in our Atlanta Support Center, with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a Digital PMO Manager to provide guidance, coaching, and direction towards maturing and optimizing Agile execution methodologies through the constant improvement of Agile application principles and processes inside of their assigned teams.

  • Interact closely with cross-functional IT and Business teams to educate and execute the Agile methodology and coach the team to achieve sprint goals and adhere to sprint timelines.

  • Schedules, facilitates, and coaches Agile routines and ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and PI Planning.

  • Works with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and Enterprise Architects to establish and maintain Product/Story Roadmaps.

  • Helps support agile tool adoption and consistent utilization and ensures the team is tracking and communicating project performance using appropriate Agile KPIs, metrics, tools, and techniques.

  • Identify, develop, and execute strategies and supporting tactics to influence teams and individuals to make needed behavioral changes to ensure timely and high-quality project deliverables.

  • Effectively communicate with managers, peers, and business partners on deliverables, timelines, and support needed from them.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • 8+ years of Project Management and Scrum Master experience with in-depth knowledge of Scrum and implementation of Agile Methodologies to multiple teams in large-scale enterprise projects & programs.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience managing multiple medium/high complexity projects in a matrixed resource environment, working with diverse Project Sponsors across multi-company and business units.

  • Demonstrated work history of leading projects and multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts; team sizes, organizations, cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.

  • Proficient with relevant Atlassian Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie, etc.).

  • Active Scrum Master Certification (SSM, CSM, PSM) is preferred.

  • Experience with traditional project management skills: managing budget, scheduling, estimating, etc., and PMP cert is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES

  • Guides and serves teams that deliver technology solutions through effective application of the Lean/Agile principles and frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Directly experienced with the Scrum Framework: understands the appropriate use of Scrum practices within Agile teams, how to establish a Scrum team’s standard ways of working, and providing general Scrum process expertise and coaching to the organization.

  • Works closely with other Scrum Masters to exchange best practices and help to continually improve the process.

  • Ensures priorities are understood and seeks backlog alignment with the Product Owner.

  • Helps to remove or facilitate removal of impediments the team cannot resolve on their own.

  • Facilitates internal and external communications (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, and dependency management).

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques.

  • Assist with risk management, release management, and facilitating release planning activities.

  • Analytical skills to effectively manage activities related to budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, process management, risk management, quality control, and reporting.

  • Helps protect the development team from external requests during sprint work.

  • Builds and develops a high-performance team.

  • Promotes self-help/self-organization within the teams.

  • Helps establish and support consistent reporting practices across the teams

  • Identifies team training and tool needs.

  • Facilitates and enables an environment of collaboration, innovation, and creativity.

  • Helps to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Acts as a Servant Leader.
