How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines Human Resources team is undergoing a multi-year HR transformation. We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to join our HR Project and Process Quality (PPQ) team. The major priority for the successful candidate will be to act as a Program Manager supporting technology development, redefining processes, and ensuring improved employee satisfaction for the Human Resources customers. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a fluid environment, taking on challenges while maintaining a strong people focus. This role will work to achieve project success and process standardization throughout the organization, using project management skills and by collaborating with the business areas and related Project Managers.

This position is based in Delta General Offices in Atlanta, GA.

  • Ensuring the team produces continual and on-time delivery ofvalue.

  • Manage customer expectations for project deliverables, produce keystakeholder communications, and follow the defined system of projectgovernance.

  • Works directly with product owners for clear requirementdefinition, scope and schedule.

  • Manage risks, issues and develop remediation plans.

  • Managing team delivery commitments and helping to removeenterprise and escalated impediments.

  • Manage several concurrent projects of varying priority andcomplexity, across multiple teams and, potentially, multiple businessdivisions.

  • Provides overall guidance for teams to adhere to Agile principlesand practices. Arrange, facilitate and schedule meetings, demos anddecision-making processes to ensure that the proper adaptation process is inuse. This includes backlog management, estimating and sizing effort, releaseplanning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospective.

  • Works across stakeholders and teams to continuously improve. Drivedelivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics toidentify areas of opportunity.

  • Maintain an exceptional level of customer focus centered onintegrity and transparency.

  • Foster close cooperation across all team members; encouragecross-training and team support.

  • Act as a peer guide for other team members on theinterdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.

  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint andSharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or seniorleadership.

  • A high level of discretion and responsibility when it comes tohandling sensitive information.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Five or more years of experience managing/leading enterprisetechnology initiatives, preferably as it relates to Application Development,Application Migration, Cloud Technology, or the Migration of Applications to aCloud Infrastructure.

  • Experience successfully delivering solutions on an aggressiveschedule.

  • Experience in business analysis, product/project management, orproduct development.

  • Experience using leading Scrum/Agile tools.

  • Experience managing, tracking and advising around product &project budgets as they align within scope.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work inthe United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is preferred.

  • Experience with Airline applicationsand infrastructure technology is preferred.

  • PMP and/or Black Belt certificationsare welcome.
