How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and enhance our Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with the principles of ISO 14001, while supporting our commitment to regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship. This role will focus on evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of environmental programs across our global operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic approach to risk management, trend analysis, and mitigation strategies, leveraging our Environmental Management Information Systems (EMIS) for effective trending and oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Advance and maintain our EMS in alignment with ISO 14001
Integrate environmental compliance objectives into broader operational strategies
Conduct station support visits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal standards
Provide recommendations for improvement and support corrective action implementation
Develop and implement frameworks for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating environmental aspects and
impacts and other associated risks
Maintenance and governance of Delta’s Environmental Programs Manual
Monitor system performance and use data-driven insights to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Work within and optimize the Intelex-based EMIS to streamline compliance task management, inspections, and support visit processes
Serve as the corporate Chemical Review Committee and Environmental Permit/Process Evaluation Committee leader and foster cross-divisional partnerships within those committees
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure EMIS capabilities support program goals and regulatory requirements
Oversee environmental compliance activities, maintaining alignment with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, FAA)
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including facility managers, regulatory agencies, and airport authorities
Travel and Field Engagement:
Travel (approximately 20%) to airport facilities nationwide to conduct on-site assessments, training, and stakeholder meetings
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
5 years of environmental compliance experience
Demonstrated experience with ISO 14001 principles and frameworks for evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Proficiency with Environmental Management Information Systems (EMIS), particularly Intelex
Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including EPA and local/state compliance requirements
Commitment to continued education and appropriate certification maintenance
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

• Experience managing environmental compliance for aviation or transportation industries
• Oversight of multiple facilities or geographically dispersed operations
• 7+ years of experience in Environmental Management and Environmental Management Information Systems
• Masters degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
