Chick-fil-A Principal Team Leader, Engineering in Atlanta, Georgia
Overview
This position is an engineering leadership role within Entity Technology Engineering serving the Supply Chain domain by supporting subsidiary vertical business lines includes distribution and food manufacturing. These are strategic and fast-growing business domains rely on cutting edge technology more than ever.
This leader is responsible for leading staff engineers and sourcing contract partners to co-deliver cloud-based solutions supporting these business areas.
Through a leadership team, direct reports, and partnerships, both internal and external to DTT and Chick-fil-A, this leader will establish teams, patterns, and processes to deliver solutions which are foundational for Supply Chain vertical business lines.

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants.
Due to steady, year-over-year sales and volume growth, combined with the complexity in our Restaurants, Chick-fil-A Supply supports current and future Restaurant needs through distribution innovation that extends the Chick-fil-A culture of care to those it serves, as well as those it employs.
This subsidiary is in the early stages of development and is a dynamic, fast-paced work environment focused on launching this new service to Restaurants across the nation.
The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components:
· Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants
· Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants
· Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants
Responsibilities
Lead a Software Engineering team containing multiple DevOps sub-teams within the DTT department
Drive engineering and operational excellence across multiple DevOps teams
Partners with DTT customers and stakeholders to develop a roadmap which supports the needs of each group
Provides high-level technical leadership within supported domains
Coordinate with enterprise and area architects on solutions impacting supported domains
Select and manage software and service vendors to optimal performance in support of domain strategies and goals
Serves as the People Leader to a team of Software Engineers and Lead Engineers
Facilities and oversee professional consulting agreements needed to scale with the teams development and support needs
Lead, develop and engage direct reports to model Chick-fil-A’s core values and guiding principles
Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition, development and diversity
Hold direct reports accountable for achieving team goals and objectives, as well as coaching and mentoring
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
8 or more yrs of Relevant work experience
7 years experience in technology solutions delivery
5 or more years of leadership experience in Software Development and DevOps Engineering practices
5 or more years of product or platform leadership experience ensuring stakeholder outcomes
5 or more years experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with big data and analytics technologies
Proven track record of designing, deploying, and supporting large scale distributed computing systems in a mission critical environment
Strong understanding of Linux system tools, filesystems, and operating system management methodologies
Working knowledge of Python, GO and associated frameworks
Experience with REST API endpoint development and use
Strong collaboration mindset to gather input from multiple diverse stakeholders to drive a product strategy
Ability to connect high-level product vision with daily activities of the team
Preferred Qualifications
Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical Degree
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Strong technical aptitude and leadership as well as business-outcome focused
Software Engineering experience in a DevOps environment
Ability to partner with Engineering stakeholders to deliver the most relevant and effective engineering tools
Ability to gather product feedback and steward the products and tools according to DTT needs
Ability to lead a portfolio of delivery tools through a team of continuous delivery
Ability to navigate through a challenging situation, ensuring all parties are treated with honor, dignity, and respect
