ABOUT THIS POSITION

Waystar is actively looking for a Market & Competitive Intelligence Manager that is deeply familiar with the healthcare industry and has a passion for enabling growth in a fast-paced environment. The successful team member will lead the development and dissemination of tools and resources to successfully illustrate the competitive dynamics for Waystar in the marketplace. They will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and client operations to develop competitive strategies and drive decision-making to execute those strategic plans.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform ongoing, in-depth market research (qualitative and quantitative), internally and externally, to understand and communicate market drivers, trends, established competitors, and potential disruptors.

  • Construct a detailed point of view on each of our competitors, including their product offering, growth, market share, and anticipated actions.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the competitive environment and provide strategic thinking to product positioning

  • Maintain and utilize networks of people and resources for obtaining and disseminating competitive information

  • Translate findings into consumable and actionable insights for all stakeholders including Executive Leadership while partnering with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, and Product to understand contextual intelligence needs and execute to deliver against those needs.

  • Develop and implement competitive intelligence systems and assets including newsletters, internal communications, and other avenues for the distribution of competitive intelligence knowledge.

  • Continuously build a reservoir of comprehensive, thought leadership insights that articulates our value, brings consistency to our client engagement, and sharpens our selling effectiveness against competitors to our target markets.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 4-7 years of experience in product marketing, management consulting or competitive intelligence

  • Strong acumen of MicroSoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as well as leveraging market intel platforms such as Crayon, Pitchbook, CB Insights

  • Knowledge of business market concepts and principles; ability to utilize the processes, tools and techniques for gathering, analyzing, and communicating information about the competitive environment.

  • Exude integrity, thought leadership, ambition, and reliability

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently

  • Experience managing projects within an agile environment

  • Industry knowledge: a history of strong knowledge of the healthcare landscape, bonus if specific revenue cycle experience.

  • Expert storyteller: the ability to connect the dots between target markets, buyers, their needs, and the impact of our solutions in a unique, effective way.

  • Passion for research: the desire to keep a strong pulse on the market, buyers, and trends.

  • Analytical Skills: the ability to gather and analyze data to support the creation of a value story that can be shared with clients and prospects.

  • Strong collaborator: the ability to collaborate with Growth, Marketing, Product, and Client Operations.

  • Healthcare revenue cycle and payments experience

  • Consulting or research experience

  • High-level of enthusiasm and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated, ability to work with little or no oversight while possessing a solution seeking attitude

  • Accepts responsibility for actions and understands the concept of ownership
