First Horizon Bank Enterprise Risk Advisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Location: On site in Memphis, TN, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, and Florida

Summary

The Risk Advisor role reports to the ERM Manager. The role is responsible for supporting the advancement of enterprise risk programs including the enterprise risk framework and risk appetite statement and execution of corresponding risk requirements including risk identification, risk assessment and risk aggregation methodology, development of KRIs, policy governance, risk committee and board reporting, regulatory relations including exam management and ownership of the bank’s GRC tool.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support enhancements to and execution of the bank’s risk management framework and risk appetite statement and related activities including risk identification, enterprise risk assessment and aggregation methods.

  • Drive the board reporting process across the enterprise and prepare board reports.

  • Support the development of key risk metrics across the enterprise, prepare program documentation including policies and procedures for managing ongoing program monitoring.

  • Develop other risk programs as needed including policy, process, and methodology needed for ongoing oversight.

  • Assist with creation and delivery of risk communication and training materials focused on roles/responsibilities across the three lines of defense.

  • Build strong relationships with first line business partners coordinating risk program enhancements and execution.

  • Participate in industry forums and build relationships with other large banks across the industry.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of enterprise risk or operational risk management experience.

  • Experience building or enhancing ERM and operational risk programs, preferably at a larger banking institution.

  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects successfully and a proven track record of strong execution on major initiatives.

  • Proficiency at assessing current processes with an eye towards efficiency.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of an organization.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business units.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change.

  • Experience interpreting regulatory guidance and transforming guidance into executable actions.
