About the role

As a Customer Marketing Executive, you will sit right at the heart of business supporting & working as business partners with our sales teams to ensure they have all the insight, growth drivers & tools they need to deliver brilliant execution of Diageo’s commercial plan to shift consumer & shopper behaviour to achieve Diageo’s financial and market share ambition.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

-Brilliant Execution of commercial plans

  • Drive and facilitate the implementation of Off trade channel commercial activation and growth drivers plan, that is coordinated across functions and guarantees strategic, commercial & brand objectives.

  • Owns planning of activation. Works along with sales team to ensure excellent execution of all activation in outlets, supervises customer trends and competition activation.

  • Leads implementation of key growth drivers’ initiatives with focus on 365 Essentials

  • Ensure efficient choice of outlets per brand and segmentation for all sales driver’s activation and pouring agreements.

  • Pragmatic solutions are developed that overcome operational barriers at the POP/C

-Diageo is establishing competitive advantage with customers

  • Leverage field visits and internal data sources to conduct regular analysis of competition & market to form insights and implications for the business that will drive performance.

  • Highlights opportunities within channel and region of responsibility to Head of Channel and Customer Marketing team to develop most appropriate customer propositions. Conduct relative reporting for commercial activities and distribution to provide insight on any correctional actions.

  • Communication and engagement behind execution plan to sales team

  • Ensure efficient management of all material (allocation, distribution) to sales team/ outlets. Leads all logistics concerning outlet activation (e.g. distribution of POP material, distribution of promotions, etc.)

-Supervise and evaluate our performance

  • Supervising and reporting of execution results of activity vs set critical metrics (return on investment, Reach, RR% etc.), throughout the activity in order to propose corrective action to achieve or exceed our targets.

-Decision maker for:

  • Execution: All logistics concerning outlet activation and set up for success

  • Budget responsibilities: Budget tracking of commercial activation

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

-Understands the commercial opportunity:

  • Customer understanding – demonstrates an understanding of customers’ needs and motivations.

  • Outlet Segmentation - Has knowledge of all outlets within own area of responsibility

  • Brilliant Execution:

  • Activation and Execution: can plan for excellence in execution based on the 365 Essentials.

  • Monitors in market execution and advises collaborators of issues in order to continuously improve.

  • Supervising In-Store Compliance: Monitors compliance of in-store execution of brand specific sales drivers

-Lead Performance:

  • Commercial Foresight - Understands spend, volume, margin, and profit performance within own area of responsibility. Makes recommendations for change to drive improvement. Has a basic understanding of the customer P&L and customer and category profitability.

-Find Solutions:

  • Is imaginative in finding solutions to issues and pursuing opportunities for the business.

  • Has a positive outlook, channels energy into finding opportunities and solutions even in times of uncertainty and ambiguity.

-Consistently deliver excellent performance:

  • Identify clear priorities and always focus on them. Know your own role in beating the competition.

  • Understands and applies key policies and governance.

-Be Authentic:

  • Build outstanding relationships with those you work with, both internally and externally. Is always open and clear; demonstrate integrity.

Other requirements:

  • Project management knowledge –knows how to get the best from multiple partners.

  • Ability to prioritise multiple deliverables on tight lead times.

  • Strong requirement for –good analytical/excel skills, commercial drive, able to balance the needs of multiple collaborators.

  • Previous channel / customer environment experience is desirable with experience in the Diageo way of selling, customer propositions.
