The IT Technical Associate will have some experience in most of the responsibilities and tasks described below in Section 1, as well as the additional responsibilities listed in Section 2. The Level I position is able to work independently on all assignments, and is tasked with creating operational documentation and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The following statements describe the general nature of the work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.) Troubleshoot issues and initiate resolutions associated with desktop and / or workstation computer hardware, software, applications and peripheral devices, either locally or at remote locations. These devices include: barcode and laser printers, scanners, scales, handheld devices etc. Install new desktop / workstation equipment including PCs, Thin Clients, IP Phones, bar code scanners, label and laser printers, and hand-held devices. Work with maintenance team to facilitate running network drops throughout the warehouse in support of new or current workstations. Be able to punch down these drops into switches within the network closets. End User ID Account Management: create and maintain User IDs for business applications and Windows Active Directory environments. Follow all internal security setup procedures as governed by SOC Compliance requirements. Desktop and Local Server Support Maintain corporate desktop software suite, including antivirus software administration Maintain current images for all desktops and laptops Install application and system software updates on PCs Monitor and maintain all local file servers in compliance with all Baker & Taylor Information Technology standards and procedures. Troubleshoot and escalate issues to Enterprise IT Team as appropriate. Ensure all responsibilities described above are performed following all Baker & Taylor Information Technology standards and procedures. Provide day-to-day support on the loading and processing of eBooks within the BTPS environment including. Troubleshoot issues and initiate resolutions associated with loading and processing of eBooks withing he BTPS environment. QUALIFICATIONS High school graduate plus at least two years additional specialized training/education and one to three years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong PC Skills including familiarity with PC settings and functions, various browsers, Microsoft Operating systems and products such as: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Apple IOS. Ability to multi-task and organize activities to meet specific goals set by management. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, coworkers and the general public. A+ or MCP Certification desired. General networking knowledge, including protocols and infrastructure equipment Ability to troubleshoot basic PC software and hardware problems Excellent communication and organization skills Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, department staff, vendors, and customers Effective verbal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, and work effectively as a team player Service oriented with the ability to work well with customers from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience Must work varying shifts and hours as required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and lift/move up to 10 pounds.
