POLITICO Temporary HR Data Specialist in Arlington, Virginia
Description
POLITICO is seeking a Temporary HR Data Analyst to support the Global HR team’s data and reporting needs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented data analyst with experience handling large datasets and working with sensitive information.
This position will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, supporting system configuration, and providing analytical insights to stakeholders both within and outside of the HR organization. Additionally, this role will support data and administrative needs across HR verticals, including compensation, benefits, recruiting, and HR business partnership.
What You’ll Do
HR Data Migration & Integration: Extract, clean, transform, and validate HR data for seamless migration into a new HR system
HR System Support: Assist in the configuration, testing, and validation of HR modules, ensuring data integrity and system accuracy
Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop reports and dashboards to track data quality, identify inconsistencies, and support HR and business leaders
HR Vertical Support: Provide data and administrative support to HR teams in compensation, benefits, recruiting, and HR business partnership, ensuring accurate data reporting and process efficiency
Data Governance & Compliance: Handle sensitive employee data with strict confidentiality, ensuring compliance with company policies and data security standards
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with HR, finance, IT, and external consultants to establish a successful collaborative working relationship with each group
Process Documentation & Optimization: Help document workflows, data structures, and reporting best practices
Who You Are
Strong data management skills, with experience handling large, structured datasets
Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data visualization techniques
Experience with HRIS data migration or system implementation (experience with ERP/HR platforms is relevant)
Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (such as Tableau or Power BI)
Comfortable working with sensitive data and adhering to strict confidentiality standards
Detail-oriented, with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies
Effective communicator, able to translate data insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with HRIS systems such as UKG (UltiPro) or other enterprise platforms
Experience working in a corporate, media, or global organization with cross-functional teams
