Job Description

AECOM actively seeking a highly motivated Operations Support Specialists to be based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia area.

The Operations Support Specialist shall provide technical, administrative, and logistics support to Agency-wide operations by coordinating and facilitating operational support and collecting, integrating, and reporting the status of operations within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and with its supported customers.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuous operations coordination - cross Directorate within Agency and with supported customers (define/develop requirements, strategy, and initiatives to counter and deter WMD, improvised threats, and threat networks; support the Joint Operations Center (JOC)

  • Coordinate/maintain Agency Common Operating and Intelligence Pictures (COP/CIP)

  • Provides document management and project controls support which includes the receipt, inventory, audit, tracking, storage, retrieval and distribution of both classified and unclassified electronic, paper and other media project data and documents according to company policy, and proper procedures for the projects

  • Manages the set up and maintenance of document control / records management for multiple projects and Project Managers

  • Ensures that all local practices and activities comply with company policies and procedures

  • Applies sound professional judgment and independent thought on details of work

  • Resolves questions and problems

  • Independently performs most assignments with little or no oversight

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience, to include DOD Policy and Agreements experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required

  • Applicant must possess an Active Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligibility required

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability

  • 10 years of DOD Policy and Agreements experience

  • Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hands to handle or feel objects, tool, or control; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work with a computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing

  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of, or adjust, existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills that foster teamwork and create positive relationships with staff principals

  • Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve, and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project)

  • Relocation is not available for this position

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $160,000.00.
