Axient is seeking an entry level Operational Energy Analyst - Intern to join our team working the Department of Defense (DOD) in energy and space related projects. The candidate will work for Axient in support of DOD assigned projects in collaboration with government labs, academia, and industry, that target specific mission capability gaps identified by the U.S. Space Force, Joint Staff, Services, CCMDs, and DOD leadership. Selected college intern will work as an entry level researcher/analyst with our Axient Operational Energy Innovation team. This team and associated work supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment, Office of Operational Energy Innovation (OUSD/A&S/OE-I) on energy and space related projects. The selected intern will work for Axient in support of DOD OE-I assigned tasks/projects in collaboration with government labs, academia, and industry, that target specific mission capability gaps identified by DoD leadership (OSD OE-I), U.S. Space Force, Joint Staff, other Services, and Combatant Commanders (CCMDs). Candidates will apply basic research, organization, and writing skills in support of this mission. This position could lead to full time employment dependent on government funding and projects. Primary project for this Intern position is support OE-I portfolio work as part of Space and Multi Domain OE-I support.

What you will do...

• Provide Support to the OSD OE-I office in managing Space Force and Service Operational Energy tasks/projects

Provide high quality written documentation in support of OE-I tasks and projects as directed, including research and analytic supSave (https://axient.icims.com/icims2/servlet/icims2?module=AppJob&action=jobEdit&id=5733&tab=RQ_DESCRIPTION&hashed=-1224860472#!) port efforts.

• Conduct research as directed by program managers and/or project leaders with government organizations and industry.

• Support various programs and projects by collaborating with government labs, academia, and industry that target specific mission capability gaps identified by the Joint Staff, Services, combatant commands and OSD leadership.

• Support organizational meetings and associated communities of interest by coordinating research.

• Track completion of assigned actions and generate written/graphical materials and documents as required.

• Assist and/or follow/support other administrative requirements necessary for the efficient management of assigned projects.

• Any other efforts as directed by their assigned OSD OE-I task leader(s).

• Other duties as assigned in support of Axient OE-I and Space Force projects

Deliverables include data and information to support the OSD OE-I office in assessing and advancing Operational Energy projects across all domains and services.

The Intern must have skills to 1) communicate clearly, both written and orally, 2) strong organizational skills, 3) work well with the OSD OE-I staff, Space Force and Service lab personnel, other interns, with industry.

Skills you will need...

  • Actively pursuing bachelor’s degree full time (except during Summer)

  • Strong research, writing and communication skills

  • Highly Desired - Enrolled in accredited related engineering degree

  • Eligibility for DoD clearances

  • Location: Hybrid, Remote and NCR area
