SAIC Government Engagement Specialist in ARLINGTON, Virginia

Description

SAIC is hiring a Government Engagement Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) engagement with DoD and other government stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop communication products - talking points, memos, reports, and slides - for a diverse set of government audiences. This position will also monitor developments in DoD that align to OSC priorities. This position will work closely with the Congressional Team, Chief Strategy Officer, and Strategic Communications team to support these government engagement efforts.

This position is on site in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop products for engagement in DoD and other government audiences to include the inter-agency and Congress.

  • Support the Chief Strategy Officer in management of OSC's Strategic Capital Advisory Council - the 4-star governance forum reporting to the Secretary of Defense.

  • Facilitate DoD stakeholder engagement at the O-6 level. This would include content and agenda development, coordination, and execution of meetings.

  • Collaborate with the organization's teams to create content that reflects the organization's policies and strategies, ensuring all is visually appealing and easy to understand.

  • Monitor developments within DoD that could impact OSC priorities and support working level DoD forum related to OSC's mission.

Qualifications

Required Clearance:

  • No clearance required to start. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI required to maintain employment.

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, government, economics, business or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 2+ years working in DoD, other Federal Agency, the National Security Council, the National Economic Council, or Congress. DoD experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Google Suite

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of public policy and legislative processes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with investment and technology related terminology and concepts.

  • Experience working with DoD non-traditional acquisition, sustainment, or innovation efforts.
