About the role: The Senior Business Systems Analyst operates within the Data Analytics Team, a specialized subgroup operating within Manufacturing Software under Operations. As dedicated professionals within Boston Scientific, the Data Analytics Team's central mission revolves around harnessing data as a strategic asset to bolster decision-making across various departments. Proficient in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization, we combine our skills to extract actionable insights from complex datasets. Our primary goal is to empower our organization with data-driven solutions that support day-to-day activities across multiple groups within the site, fuel growth, amplify efficiency, and inspire innovation. The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for integrating data sources to enable self-service report creation and accelerate analytics development using the Power BI platform. This role supports functional teams at Arden Hills by bringing together data from different sources and functions to provide metrics and insights that enhance visibility and improvements in Manufacturing Operations. Your responsibilities will include: Customer Interaction: Collaborate with internal customers to determine data or report requirements and translate them into actionable reports for analysis Data Modeling Leadership: Lead and manage data modeling initiatives on key projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals Insight Generation: Use data to highlight key organizational trends and collaborate with businesses to identify insights, trends, opportunities, interventions, and solutions that demonstrate business value Collaboration: Work with solution teams to curate data asset integration and optimize key technology processes Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior data analysts and developers within the team Integration: Collaborate with Analysts, Developers, Engineers, Data Architects, BI Developers, and Data Scientists to develop and integrate data, insights, and solutions Evaluation and Innovation: Evaluate existing applications and systems, recommending improvements, modifications, and opportunities for innovation Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for improved system performance Data Modeling: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop data models and structures that enable effective data analysis and interpretation Documentation: Design, develop, and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides for data and analytics products Continuous Improvement: Support a work environment of continuous improvement in line with Boston Scientific's Quality Policy, Quality System, and appropriate regulations for the areas supported System Support and Maintenance: Monitor data systems for optimal performance, manage incidents using ServiceNow or similar tools, perform routine system maintenance, and provide user support to ensure seamless operation and availability of data services Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or a related technical field Minimum of 6+ years' experience with advanced analytic techniques and data science Experience with data modeling for large-scale cloud, MPP, and big data platforms (e.g., Postgres XL, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift) Proven experience and demonstrated skills with AWS services Proficiency in p ogramming languages such as Python, or R, and extensive experience with database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based storage solutions Ability to develop plans and instructions for operating complex business systems, incorporating analytics and AI/ML strategies Experience with big data programming languages and ETL technologies (e.g., Glue, SSIS, Alteryx) Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI (Preferred), Tableau, or similar Experience managing data analytics implementation and reporting projects Preferred qualifications: Working knowledge with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, RedShift, Athena Working knowledge in creating Data Warehouse and Data Lakes Experience with data visualization tools such as BOBJ, SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS), Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik Proven proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query M language Requisition ID:584162 As a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most - united by a deep caring for human life.
