Description:

TEKsystems is partnering with a local company on the search for a Data Center Technician. Ideally, this technician will have previous Data Center operations experience and/or low voltage technology experience. While on this team, you will have the opportunity to work with modern Data Center technologies, and a flexible work schedule with varying work hours, ranging from full-time to part-time depending on the week.

Responsibilities:

• Installation and management of data center equipment (Racking, Stacking, and Cable Management with CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics).

• Collaborating with external vendors to oversee the equipment intake process and documenting it using Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools.

• Coordinating with Carriers for installation and troubleshooting issues.

Upcoming Projects:

• Major construction is set to commence on the Operations Office in Appleton in Q1 or Q2 of 2025. This will involve significant preparatory work to modernize the data center for new equipment and fiber connections.

• Decommissioning a Minnesota-based DR site in preparation for a move to CoLo.

Top Skills:

• Experience in Racking, Stacking, and Cable Management (CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics).

• Low Voltage cabling experience.

• Experience working with external vendors to manage the equipment intake process, and documenting in Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools.

• Experience working with Carriers as it related to carrier installation and troubleshooting issues.
