Job Title: Data Center Technician

Job Overview: We are in search of a seasoned Data Center Technician to be part of our team. This role offers a long-term opportunity with varying work hours, ranging from full-time to part-time depending on the week.

Ideal Candidate: The perfect fit for this role would be an experienced technician with expertise in Data Center operations and/or low voltage technology, who is comfortable working within a data center environment.

Responsibilities:

• Installation and management of data center equipment (Racking, Stacking, and Cable Management with CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics).

• Collaborating with external vendors to oversee the equipment intake process and documenting it using Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools.

• Coordinating with Carriers for installation and troubleshooting issues.

  Upcoming Projects:

• Major construction is set to commence on our Operations office in Appleton in Q1 or Q2 of 2025. This will involve significant preparatory work to modernize the data center for new equipment and fiber connections.

• Decommissioning a Minnesota-based DR site in preparation for a move to CoLo.

  Required Skills: Data center, Cable, Rack and stack, Cabling, Hardware, Hardware troubleshooting, Troubleshooting, Racking, Cat6, Cat5, Stacking, Infrastructure, Data center maintenance, Ticketing system, Cable installation, Data center operations, Installation, Server support, Repair, Hardware installation.

  Top Skills:

• Experience in Racking, Stacking, and Cable Management (CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics).

• Low Voltage cabling experience.

• Experience working with external vendors to manage the equipment intake process, and documenting in Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools.

• Experience working with Carriers as it related to carrier installation and troubleshooting issues.
