Description We are searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Maryland. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling accounts payable processes and working closely with the broader finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage all aspects of the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment, and accounting of trade payables.

• Develop best practices for accounts payable processes in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Collaborate with the broader finance team to facilitate a smooth month-end closing process and address any discrepancies.

• Process weekly payments via checks, ACH, and wires for both domestic and international vendors.

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, resolving any invoice discrepancies and negotiating terms when necessary.

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions, reconciling accounts payable ledgers as needed.

• Classify invoices correctly between CAPEX/OPEX with appropriate approvals.

• Work efficiently in a high-volume environment.

• Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures for the accounts payable process to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Support the preparation and review of financial reports related to accounts payable, including aging reports and cash flow forecasts. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Check Processing

• Proficiency in Data Entry

• Ability to Process Payments efficiently

• Experience in Vendor Management
