Summary

At Michigan Medicine, our Audiologists embody The Michigan Difference through our expert, compassionate care. We are looking for an Audiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated and sincere interest in career development in cochlear implants and/or hearing aid technology, in addition proficiency with diagnostic audiologic assessment as performed in a tertiary care academic medical center. This position offers an opportunity to participate in the clinical education of audiology doctoral students, otolaryngology residents, and fellows, and to be part of an interdisciplinary team including neurotologists, auditory verbal/SLP therapists, and audiologists in various specialty areas of practice.

Responsibilities*

  • Diagnostic audiologic assessment of patients seen in audiology/otolaryngology outpatient clinics in a tertiary care academic medical center

  • Audiologic and rehabilitative management of patients with hearing aids and/or cochlear implants

  • Successful maintenance of a busy clinic schedule at various locations; travel to satellite locations may be expected with this position

  • Proficient documentation using electronic medical record (Epic) and various audiology-specific software is required.

  • Active participation in case conferences, team meetings, departmental meetings, and outreach efforts.

Required Qualifications*

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Audiology

  • Current licensure as an Audiologist from the state of Michigan is necessary.

  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology, awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association is necessary.

  • Able to successfully complete Michigan Medicine provider credentialing.

  • Clinical experience including diagnostic audiologic testing and exposure to audiologic management of cochlear implant recipients.

  • Superior collaborative skills used within a care team that includes audiologists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and support personnel.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Recent experience with hearing aid and/or cochlear implant programming, verification, fitting, and troubleshooting

  • Experience working directly with cochlear implant recipients.

  • Experience with digital audiometric software and electronic medical records.

  • Experience working in a busy, fast-paced clinical environment.

  • Experience working with technical support staff.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
