Mercury Systems VP of Talent Management in Andover, Massachusetts

In this role, you have the opportunity to Report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and create and execute a talent strategy that will give Mercury Systems a best-in-industry workforce that ensures we can deliver on our mission to provide, “Innovation that Matters.” The selected candidate will be a key member of the Mercury Systems’ Human Resources Leadership Team and must be passionate about collaborating with the business and will leverage their expertise across the entire talent cycle, from attraction to learning/ development. The person filling this role must also be agile and willing to adopt new practices and adapt to changing environmental conditions to ensure that Mercury Systems has a workforce that is viable into the future. Further, this role will be responsible for embedding the newly created Diversity, Engagement and Inclusion vision throughout all talent strategies and practices to ensure we have an appropriate focus on creating a culture and environment where everyone feels welcome and can thrive. This role is an opportunity for a person interested in innovation and execution excellence and who also seeks out and uses feedback, observations and data to develop strategies and fine-tune short-term tactics to achieve long-term objectives. This person should have a keen eye towards identifying organizational opportunities that will deliver a better employee experience and ultimately, enhanced business results. Additionally, the individual must be comfortable presenting to all levels of leadership, to include occasional briefs to members of the Mercury Systems’ Board of Directors and regular interaction with the Mercury Systems’ Executive Leadership Team. Finally, the successful incumbent must be a leader in the organization that demonstrates all of the right values, mindsets and behaviors and a passion for developing their broader team to create a viable succession profile. You are responsible for * Guided by company strategy and functional business objectives, assessing ongoing talent competitiveness and consequently designing and implementing (oversight or hands-on) meaningful solutions, impacting results in the areas of: Talent Attraction, Talent Development & Learning and Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion. * Working with Talent Acquisition to ensure that Mercury Systems satisfies its hiring targets. * Designing learning and development offerings that enhance the skills, capabilities and behaviors of the organization. * Partnering with HR Partners and leaders on openings and creating strategic make/ buy plans to help them fill their roles. * Leading and facilitating sessions with senior leadership to help them see the organizational opportunities and challenges and design new structures and models that enhance Mercury Systems’ effectiveness. * Driving strategy for Mercury’s Culture & Engagement Survey and associated analytics and action planning approach and metrics. * Driving Diversity, Engagement and Inclusion programming to enhance the culture and results at Mercury Systems * Designing the employee development strategy and programs for leadership levels and critical functional areas from top leadership to individual contributors. * Leading the program design and execution for early career and rotational programs in critical areas including engineering, program management and production in partnership with university/ college relations. * Guiding the company strategy on talent review & succession planning to ensure robust depth of talent and accelerated development in critical areas. * Ensuring programs are planned and delivered with sufficient attention to change management, including stakeholder buy-in. * Being an external thought leader on current Talent market practices and future trends. * Partnering closely with HR Operations to develop streamlined processes that drive an enhanced employee experience. * Overseeing development and growth of the team, with an emphasis on teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement. * Being an active leader and member of the HR leadership team, driving towards common goals and an inclusive culture To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience * Minimum twelve years of experience in Human Resources (with time leading Talent Attraction, Development and Diversity) with significant demonstrated success building and launching a spectrum of talent programming that were ingrained into the organization and resulted in a more capable and succession ready workforce. * Knowledge and understanding of Talent Attraction, Talent Development and Diversity and Inclusion practices gained through past practical application. * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or other related field Additional Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Experience working and presenting to a Company’s Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team and/ or Chief Human Resources Officer. * Experience working in technology companies or organizations that have experienced rapid growth with high performing cultures. * Well honed, strong project and program management skills; delivers on-time and budget. * Public company experience. * Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field.
