System One Inside Sales Manager in Ambridge, Pennsylvania

This National Metal distributor is seeking an Inside Sales Manager for their location in Ambridge, PA. The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in their assigned market. You will staff and direct a sales team and provide leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the Company’s vision and values.

The Company is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam and tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries. Responsibilities: As the Inside sales manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to drive growth in revenue and profitability consistent with goals.

  • Initiating and coordinating development of sales plans to penetrate new markets.

  • Providing timely, accurate, competitive pricing for proposals submitted for approval while striving to maintain maximum profit margin .

  • Developing and coordinating the performance of Sales Representatives.

  • Assisting Sales Representatives with the preparation of proposals.

  • Ensuring that Sales Representatives meet or exceed activity standards for prospects, proposals and closes .

    Position Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Construction Management or related field is a plus
  • 5 -7 years of industrial sales or customer management experience; preferably in structural steel/ fabrication

  • Ability to communicate effectively with professional demeanor to ensure sales success.

  • Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented organization.

  • Ability to respond effectively to time-sensitive & problematic inquiries or concerns.

  • Strong understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment: Occupation requires being sedentary less than or equal to 75% of the time(< 6 hours per day) .

    • Position works primarily in an office/cubicle environment; however you will be required to travel with Outside Sales Representatives, both by vehicle and air
  • Sales presentations via one-on-one/ conference presentations with primary decision-maker(s)

  • Constant Telephone Activity; high comfort level of initiating conversation

  • Constant work environment change depending upon phone activity or customer face-to - face visits

  • Quiet to Moderate Noise Levels

  • Must be able to deal with traffic congestion and/or air travel delays

  • Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions.

  • Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to a maximum of 25 lbs. without assistance.
