*Work Schedule: *Daily schedule is dependent upon college needs & Blair Center operating hours.

Wage: $12.50-13.50 per hour plus generous benefits package.

JOB SCOPE

This position provides supportive services to the Blair Center by providing information, guidance, and direction to visitors, students, and staff, directing phone calls to the appropriate offices, and ensuring the proper processing of messages and requests. This role will assist students with completing the admissions application, scheduling admissions, testing and registration appointments. This position will also assist with troubleshooting related to admission, recruiting and registration. Assist with student activities and recruiting events. Data entry and filing along with other clerical duties related to the position. This position requires attention to detail, the provision of outstanding customer service, and absolute confidentiality when dealing with student information.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greets and responds to prospective and current students, answers incoming phone calls, and redirects phone calls appropriately, and handles routine inquiries (including online webpage chat) from visitors, students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Develops and maintains voicemail messages for Blair phone lines while ensuring messages remain current at all times, including holidays and emergency situations/closings.
  3. Assists prospective students with the admissions process, including the completion of the college admissions application, FAFSA documents, scheduling of admissions appointments, and placement testing.
  4. Conduct outreach to students in all stages of the admissions and enrollment process.
  5. Maintain and prepare admission and registration folders to be used for appointments.
  6. Assist with data entry and filing as needed.
  7. Assist in opening and closing of the Blair Center location as needed.
  8. Assist in the development, compilation, and processing of mailings and emails distributed by the Blair Center.
  9. Maintain and order office supplies, promotional items, and manage inventory of recruitment collateral and materials.
  10. Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  11. Attendance at all mandatory meetings.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year accredited college or technical school preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of desktop applications such as Microsoft Office is required.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize College specific programs.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, write, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee may occasionally have to stoop or kneel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately loud.

  • This is a full-time bargaining unit Support Staff position.
  • All newly hired regular full-time staff employees will serve a probationary period of three (3) months. During the probationary period, staff employees will be required to demonstrate fitness for the position.
