Your Role at KIK

The Forklift Operator role i nvolves working in a team environment with primary focus on safety, continuous improvement, zero defects and 100% on time customer delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating a sit down forklift

  • Loading, unloading, storing and relocating materials within the warehouse or facility

  • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency

  • Moving stock around a warehouse using a forklift to various areas in the warehouse and at machine centers

  • Accuracy in inventory recordkeeping of all product pulled and departed shipments

  • Determine correct item numbers (SKU’s) and quantities of raw materials for use in production

  • Complete visual pallet inspections before loading pallets into equipment

  • Remove unused raw materials from production and place in correct warehouse location/trailer

  • Move bailed scrap corrugate into scrap trailer and update records

  • Carrying out simple maintenance on the forklift, like recharging its battery and refueling

  • Operate stretch wrapper

  • Identifying and reporting mechanical and electrical faults to the supervisor

  • Follow all shipping safety procedures including railer inspections and lock out procedures (jacks, chocks, dock lock)

  • Other duties as assigned to support the needs of our internal external customers

  • Inspect completed pallets for visual damage or product leaks

  • Recording accurate production on shift production sheets and/or RF System

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of high school degree or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience

  • Minimum six (6) months of experience driving a sit down forklift

  • Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required

  • Basic math skill set

  • Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)

  • Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers

  • Ability to complete all job assigned computer software requirements associated with product requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product
