ManpowerGroup Electrical Designer in Alpharetta, Georgia

Our client, a leading provider of engineering services, is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their team. As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and laying out electrical distribution and control systems for heavy industrial, oil and gas, refining, pipeline facilities, and chemical plants.

Job Title: Electrical Designer

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Pay Range: $80,000/year

What's the Job?

  • Create E&I design deliverables including I/O lists, control panel bills of material, control panel layout and wiring diagrams, and conduit & cable schedules.

  • Develop electrical power distribution design packages including site plot plan layouts, single line diagrams, distribution panel layout diagrams, conduit and cable schedules, and miscellaneous electrical details.

  • Conduct field verification walk-downs to gather information on existing site systems and execute as-built E&I and power distribution design activities.

  • Participate in factory acceptance testing of client-designed E&I and power distribution systems (preferred).

  • Engage in start-up and commissioning activities and keep the Project Manager and Senior Engineering project leadership informed of progress, issues, and the need for change orders.

What's Needed?

  • High School degree or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience with the design and layout of electrical distribution and control systems for heavy industrial, oil and gas, refining, pipeline facilities, and chemical plants.

  • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD for the development or modification of electrical and instrumentation drawings.

  • Field experience in a related field environment and familiarity with the use and care of personal safety equipment.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting startup activities of electrical control systems.
