Reference #: 4486984 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation, Lehigh County Maintenance Organization, is currently looking for full-time CDL Equipment Operators to join our Northampton Paint Crew that covers Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Equipment Operator for PennDOT, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of line painting equipment by all applicable program guidelines and safety standards. You will independently monitor pressure gauges and meters and initiate trouble shooting if necessary. Additionally, you will prepare accurate production and material data reports for the Foreman. This fulfilling job allows you to serve the community and make a positive impact each day.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Travel, overtime and shift work required.  Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program employed by the Commonwealth of PA; or

Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed. Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Conditions of Employment: All seasonal employees must obtain an active certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the operation of heavy trucks and loaders within the probationary period. All permanent employees must obtain an active certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the operation of heavy trucks and loaders, and two additional pieces of construction equipment, within the probationary period. This position requires that the E restriction is removed.to be able to drive manual transmissions and the "E" (Automatic only) restriction removed from their CDL. All positions require possession of an active Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations. All employees must obtain an active Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) during the probationary period and continuously maintain it while employed in this job.
