Job Description
Community Maternity Services (CMS), an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, is committed to providing a continuum of services for children, families and pregnant and parenting adolescents. We strive to empower clients to reach their full potential by providing them with resources for accessing health, educational and social services.
CMS is currently hiring TWO (2) Part-Time Overnights (20 hours) Youth Specialists to work in our Heery Center for Young Families. The Heery Center is a residential program of Community Maternity Services.
Job Summary:
Work with pregnant and parenting adolescents and their infants/children, children with mental health and/or behavioral concerns or pregnant and parenting youth, some of whom are experiencing the challenges of homelessness
Work with children and adolescents in a residential setting. Our residential programs run 24 hours a day/7 days a week
Be a part of a Therapeutic Team
Advocate for youth in a variety of settings and systems
Transporting clients and household duties such as laundry, cleaning and cooking
Youth Specialist Part-Time Overnights Minimum Salary: $17.00/hour
Youth Specialist Part-Time Overnights Maximum Salary: $19.00/hour
Youth Specialist: Part-Time Overnights (20 hours)
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Valid NYS driver's license
Completing TCI and once trained, executing all aspects of TCI including physical interventions
Available to attend all required trainings, in-services, staff meetings and weekly supervisions, many of which may take place outside of your scheduled shift
Minimum of 2 years experience working with children & adolescents in a residential setting
Recognize the effects of trauma on children/adolescents and respond as a member of the Therapeutic Team
Be able to lift up to 40 lbs.; demonstrate a full range of motion; be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time; and be able to walk up and down stairs as necessary
