CDPHP Stop Loss Manager in Albany, New York

The Stop Loss Manager, support new business sales and account retention through the marketing of competitive stop loss products and industry best practices stop loss claims administration and serve as CDPHP’s Stop Loss Insurance subject matter expert for internal and external customers. The Stop Loss manager will be responsible for strategic planning, cultivation, development, and management of preferred Stop Loss Carriers including compensation agreements. The Stop Loss Manager will be key in strategic and operations management of CDPHP Self-Funding marketing and proposal support. The Stop Loss Manager’s duties will include stop loss marketing, analysis, negotiation, and placement of stop loss coverage of new and renewal business. . Additionally, the Stop Loss Manager will be responsible for facilitating both clinical and non-clinical information as needed by the stop loss carriers, self-funded clients, assigned third party vendors and brokers for the purpose of stop loss claim reimbursement and stop loss policy management and referral to CDPHP’s Utilization Management team. The Stop Loss Manager will develop and execute on strategy and initiatives that will enable stop loss to grow as a revenue stream. Additionally, The Stop Loss Manager will collaborate with Account and Sales Executives as necessary for the purpose of contract maintenance, employer group sales, renewals, and new business implementation.

Qualifications:

  • NYS Life, Health and Accident License required

  • Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum five (5) years health care related marketing experience required with increasing levels of expertise and responsibility required.

  • Minimum three (3) years managing or supporting large accounts experience required.

  • Minimum three (3) years self-funded experience required.

  • Minimum three (3) years in marketing and analysis of Stop Loss Insurance and Stop Loss claims administration.

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with current health insurance market trends, services, contracts and pricing procedures, alternative funding arrangements.

  • Ability to analyze and understand insurance contracts, terms, provisions, limitations, and exclusions.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Established management of diverse operations and SME capability.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents to assure timely and reliable data outputs.

  • Ability to successfully analyze and negotiate competitive and reliable Stop Loss product quotes on behalf of self-funded clients for new and renewal business

  • Ability to develop and evaluate favorable strategic relations with Stop Loss carriers and reinsurers.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Demonstrated ability at public speaking and/or facilitation of meetings required.

  • Demonstrated ability resolving complex issues across multiple areas within an organization required. Specific experience negotiating resolution of legal, medical, finance, and operational issues preferred.

  • Working knowledge of computers required. Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of COGNOS, Tableau, Salesforce and FACETS experience preferred.

Individual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, such as work experience, qualifications, and skills.
