Trinity Health PBX Operator (Switchboard) - Full Time Nights - St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York

Full Time Nights with Holidays and weekends included.

St. Peter's is looking for a candidate that:

Can use switchboard operation of telecommunication equipment:

Able to operate a computerized switchboard console.

Able to perform basic keyboard functions including typing.

Directs all incoming and in-house calls through transfers, paging, conference calls, overhead paging, and faxing.

When notified of an emergency situation, able to initiate appropriate paging and contacting personnel properly in a timely manner.

Has good communication skills:

Processes and triages all customer calls in a clear voice using good English.

Remains calm and maintains professionalism when handling delicate or volatile customers.

As first respondents to emergencies, responsible for announcing and dispatching appropriate parties in a clear voice for Code Blue, Code Yellow and emergency situations.

Must be well organized with good short term memory.

Plays a key role in announcing and preparing staff for JCAHO visits and/or emergency preparedness situations.

Must be able to take/write clear notes quickly so that they can be retrieved and understood at a later time.

Able to document necessary information concerning daily and emergency situations in office log book.

Maintain any necessary additions, deletions and changes to daily operations on-call schedules, and switchboard related functions.

Will assist in working hours other than scheduled when requested by supervisor.

A High School Diploma is Required

Pay Range:$16.20 - $20.75

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
