JOB TITLE: Coffee Shop Manager

Position Overview: The Milagros Coffee Shop Manager provides vision and oversight of the general and day-to-day operations and staff at Milagros. This person is a self -starter with a high level of integrity, a passion for the missions of Milagros as well as La Puente, and a high level of compassion for community members in crisis. Motivating and inspiring staff, providing excellent customer service, and fostering a friendly environment for the community are all essential characteristics of this position. Starting Salary is $42K-$45K base DOE, plus tips, plus a monthly commission.

MUSTS: Must obtain Manager ServSafe within first 30 days of management (course & test) Maintain a consistent offering of product & service. Establish and uphold kitchen and front of house standards for quality, consistency, organization, and cleanliness in par with Health Codes. Supervise the handling of repairs and improvements, and handle all submission of work orders. Purchase supplies and record history of orders, prices, and inventory. Maintain a reliable and consistent supply of product. Responsible for overall cleanliness, orderliness, and presentation of the coffee house. Main diplomat concerning problems in house with staff, as well as customers. Administration Know and enforce policy written for Milagros Coffee House, and La Puente Home, Inc. Meet regularly with the Operations Manager. Receive, maintain and pass on necessary paperwork. Financial Help prepare and adhere to the budget. Assume the most cost-effective strategies in purchasing, staffing, utilities, expenses, etc. Work with the finance department on all financial activities. Track daily sales and deposits (aka Dailies) and take all security precautions necessary for safekeeping. Turn in timesheets, dailies, records, etc. on time to the Finance department.

SKILLS: Work to develop community engagement programming (ex. Open Mic nights) and events congruent with the mission and community. Schedule and keep accountable for this offering. Coordinate the marketing of all events. Public Relations -Greet everyone who enters Milagros Coffee House with a smile, and be willing to listen to any concerns. Coordinate any and all marketing initiatives. Ensure a quality customer service experience, at all levels. Be conscious of Milagros relationship with La Puente Home and work to enhance that relationship between La Puente and the community by: Ensuring good relations with the community and responding quickly and completely to their concerns. Guiding staff in all public relations needs. Promote the connection between La Puente Home and Milagros Coffee House.

DUTIES: Uphold the mission of Milagros Coffee House: Operate profitably. Consistently provide simple, healthy, and delicious food and beverages. Provide a welcoming environment to the community. Promote further awareness of homelessness, hunger, and La Puente Home. Provide staff an exceptional work environment that enhances personal growth and job satisfaction. Supervise employed staff as well as international and community volunteers. Responsible for hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating. Responsible for the communication of policies, history, and mission of Milagros and La Puente Home. Training staff adequately for their position. Organize work; assign tasks, delegate authority as appropriate. Demonstrate and promote a positive attitude and work environment. Responsible for the creation and accountability of the staff schedule.

WAGES:$42,000-$45,000 per year

SHIFT & DURATION: Monday-Friday and weekends as needed. 40 ho r work week.
