The Opportunity
We are hiring a Business Unit Head to lead our Saudi, Gulf & East Africa (SAGEA) Poultry business. This role will be responsible for defining the strategic direction, executing commercial plans, and driving the growth of the poultry portfolio, ensuring alignment with global and regional priorities while maximizing both top- and bottom-line performance.
As part of the SAGEA Animal Health Leadership Team, the Poultry Business Unit Head will play a critical role in developing and implementing the Animal Health Business Plan, ensuring strategies are successfully adapted to local market needs. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the business unit, overseeing the execution of sales, marketing, and customer engagement strategies while managing distributor relationships to unlock business potential and expand market share in key/strategic accounts.
This role reports directly to the Head of Animal Health KSA, Gulf & East Africa (SAGEA) and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Lead the business in SAGEA OPU in alignment with Global and Regional strategies, ensuring effective execution at the local level.
• Oversee sales and marketing of the Poultry portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting and developing OPU plans to optimize resource utilization and to drive top and bottom-line performance.
• Meet/exceed sales budgets (value, product mix, productivity, new launches, strategic accounts & market share development) in the OPU.
• Roll out and embed Customer Engagement Excellence programs, processes, and tools to enhance customer experience and business impact. Drive strategic/key account management, strengthening partnerships with high-value customers to maximize long-term business opportunities.
• Implement marketing campaigns and provide Regional teams with market insights and customer needs.
• Manage distributors, including target setting, performance reviews, and designing commercial terms to drive distributor performance.
Requirements:
• Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Life Sciences, or related fields; Master’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing is a plus.
• +10 years of experience in commercial roles (Sales and/or Marketing) within the pharmaceutical industry preferably in animal health.
• +5 years of front-line leadership experience with a proven track record of building high-performance teams.
• Experience in developing and delivering commercial strategies across multiple markets.
• Strong background in Key/Strategic Account Management and customer engagement.
• Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management.
• In-depth knowledge of technical, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance requirements.
• Experience within the SAGEA region will be a plus.
• Business & Market Acumen, Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, ensuring effective decision-making and business growth.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset, result-driven with the ability to drive top and bottom-line performance.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and deliver results in a matrix organization.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, drive innovation, and lead change initiatives.
