Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a Network Operations Specialist for an exciting opportunity in Fairlawn, OH. We are looking for someone who wants to get their foot in the door in an IT position working for a Large organization in Fairlawn, OH. As a Network Operations Specialist you will do monitoring of tier level support of our Windows, Unix and Linux systems including servers, network devices, applications, databases, voice systems and other IT systems.

*Must be local and willing to come onsite. Also, must be open to working both day shift and night shifts - this role rotates 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am EST 12 hour shifts *

Title: Junior IT Operations Specialist

Location: Fairlawn, OH

12-month contract to hire

Required Experience:

· 1 years of IT System troubleshooting experience

· 1+ year of Windows, Unix and or Linux operating Systems

· Strong multitasking ability including monitoring a continuous flow of alerts while performing troubleshooting and system administrative tasks

· Able to work in a 24 X 7 X 365 environment and 12 hour shifts

Duties:

· Linux server configurations and processes

· Basic database administration

· Monitoring network traffic, analyzing network problems and performance

· Responding to alerts from system monitors & performing first level problem identification and resolution

· Issuing tickets for problem escalation

· Performing batch scheduling functions, including monitoring and execution

· Supporting multiple teams during event identification, escalation and resolution

Nice to Have:

· Network & Windows troubleshooting and administrative skills

· Unix operating system and commands

· Strong problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written)

Education:

o Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred but equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
