SCHEDULE: Full time, determined on a case-by-case basis
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Directs and oversees Veteran programming of agency; which includes services for US Military Veterans in need of emergency, transitional and permanent housing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, implements, and evaluates program goals and objectives, ensures the quality of service delivery to the community through monitoring and supervision.
Builds financial and in-kind support for programs through grants, local resource development, advisory board activity and community education.
Responsible for all program reporting as required by funders; reviews staff reports prior to submission
Provides direct supervision, evaluation, and support of staff.
Builds and maintains professional working relationships with VA Medical Center staff, homeless/housing Continuum of Care networking agencies.
Models awareness and behaviors needed for growth and development.
Actively participates in regular team meetings for the purpose of program consistency, monitoring and effectiveness.
Ensures training for staff on best practice models in service delivery approach
Participates in local community meetings about housing issues, and delegates staff to participate in meetings.
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.
Oversees staff development and training.
Attends agency staff meetings, and staff development activities.
Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of client centered model of crisis intervention skills, and ability to teach crisis intervention.
Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in team structure.
Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Management of staff, grant funding/reporting and experience working with veterans, survivors of domestic violence and/or homeless populations required. Experience working in a shelter setting preferred.
