Position Summary

Bank of America Global Information Security (GIS) is looking to add an Identity & Access (I&A) Product Manager into an existing, experienced team. Our I&A organization and technology environment is complex and mature yet always evolving. We are looking to expand product management coverage across core products and emerging programs that we intimately support.

This Product Manager role will triage customer needs, orchestrate feature delivery, rationalize I&A strategy, and manage the product lifecycle (e.g., capacity, financials) for both proprietary and vendor applications. You will play a crucial role in working cross-functionally across the business, architecture, and technology teams to reduce risk, reduce cost, and save time across the I&A landscape.

Immediate responsibilities include administering feature delivery and vendor governance across all I&A verticals. This will be achieved by managing customer intake horizontally across I&A products and programs as well as handling vendor lifecycle compliance, including contracts and relationships.

Over time, responsibilities will expand to include roadmaps, business case proposals, and cultivating vendor pipelines within a specific I&A vertical.

The ideal candidate exhibits some knowledge of I&A lifecycle processes and technologies. Product management experience is preferred. Several key skillsets are a must; strong verbal and written communication, requirements gathering, prioritization, organization, quantitative skills, Agile experience, and relationship building.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Feature Administration: oversee customer intake, gather requirements, rationalize solutions, and prioritize deliverables with business and technology stakeholders

  • Vendor Governance: conduct contracts, support compliance, and manage vendor relationships

  • Business Cases: author proposals, calibrate funding, and influence decisions

  • Artifacts: create roadmaps and groom product inventory

  • Evangelism: create training material and deliver demos

Required Qualifications:

What:

  • Some knowledge of IAM lifecycle processes, including authentication, authorization, connector frameworks, access ordering, access certifications, or policy management

  • Familiarity with modern technologies, e.g., java, kafka, neo4j

  • Experience with industry prioritization frameworks: Weighted Smallest Job First, MoSCoW

  • Experience with Agile DevOps; know the difference between Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework

  • Experience working cross-functionally across technology and business units

  • Skilled in PowerPoint, Excel, Confluence; eye for high-quality design

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; influence through storytelling

  • Highly organized and fast-paced

  • Deep critical thinking with ability to negotiate with grace

  • Eagerness to learn new proprietary toolsets and vendor technologies

  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior product management experience

Enterprise Role Overview:

Responsible for maximizing the value for a product. Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment. Possess a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain. With some guidance, creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems. Creates and prioritizes work for one team. Learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams. With some guidance, creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints. Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements. Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business. Individual contributor.
