The Office of Social Responsibility is inviting applications for a Program Instructor position to support our Adult Education Program. NYUAD’s Office of Social Responsibility offers a comprehensive program of educational opportunities that have met the expressed educational and social needs of contracted staff employed by NYUAD and domestic workers employed by NYUAD community members. The Instructor role supports NYU Abu Dhabi's educational mission by assessing, developing, and implementing our array of adult education programming.

Job Summary

The instructor role will be responsible for all instructional and academic administrative support for our program’s robust course offerings. This includes maintaining strategic communication to engage and enroll a broad range of NYUAD community members, coordinating and developing educational and social programming, maintaining an inventory of all program students and participants, and identifying and activating resources, both at NYUAD and externally, that are needed to ensure the success of OSR programs.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Maintain strategic communications to engage and enroll the NYUAD community and stakeholders in OSR educational programs. This includes presenting during shift changes, staff briefings, toolbox talks, quarterly ambassador meetings, and all social media, website, guidebook app, and marketing materials.

  • Coordinate and develop educational programming in line with the expressed interest of our community that creates a sense of cultural understanding and integration to the UAE and NYUAD community.

  • Identify resources, both at NYUAD and externally, needed to ensure the success of NYUAD’s adult education program. This includes the teaching of courses, organizing events, and building community.

  • Maintain inventory of all participants participating in educational programming offered by the Office of Social Responsibility.

  • Maintain strategic metrics of strategic planning and metrics of success for OSR programming.

  • Update and implement an annual community survey for all constituencies supported by OSR and create a report to share with NYUAD leadership.

  • Supervise Student assistants and programmatic instructors.

    We require applicants to have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Research and Public Policy, Psychology, Literature, and Creative Writing or related fields to apply. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for both social responsibility and adult learning, demonstrated through relevant academic qualifications and/or professional experience in education, community development, or related fields. Individuals with a higher degree interested in working in this academic support role will also be considered. An ideal applicant would be an excellent oral and written English communicator with a proven track record of designing and delivering engaging educational programs tailored to adult learners, with a keen understanding of effective instructional methodologies and best practices in adult education. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural competence, enabling them to effectively engage with diverse learner populations and foster a supportive learning environment.

    Salaries are competitive with a generous benefits package that includes housing allowance, health insurance, transportation allowance, and home leave travel allowance. Appointments are for up to three years with the opportunity to renew subject to performance reviews, staff planning, and budget approvals.
