The Opportunity

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Procurement Specialist, MRO (Maintenance, Repairs & Operations), in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL location.

The Senior Specialist applies experience and procurement knowledge to execute procurement best practices and supply management strategies across Global Procurement Services. They also work with customers, internal and external, and Divisions to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service. This role will work across multiple verticals. The position will be responsible for driving business excellence through strategy, people and technologies with the various categories and divisions.

  • Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels

  • Full understanding of the "One Procurement" strategies. Strong knowledge and project work across multiple categories that impact the team positively.

  • Works within defined processes and procedures and may help determine appropriate approaches for change.

What You'll Work On:

  • This position will be leveraged to engage stakeholders “where they are,” hosting Stakeholder Roadshows on-site in NAM, highlighting tools that Global Procurement can bring to sites to help them achieve their goals, and coordinating with sites to deeply understand process & utilize existing Global Procurement advantages (e.g., preferred suppliers, Ariba, etc.)

  • Support global category strategy management, ideation tracking, Supplier Scorecards, Sustainability, Supplier Diversity engagement & reporting

  • Deliver on annual GMI targets, in support of global category goals within the category.

  • Contract with new suppliers as needed, and drive process efficiency between divisions, suppliers, and Global Procurement

  • Manage SOWs/RFI's/Ordering documents and assist with supplier selection

  • Create and implement RFPs in collaboration with functions, divisions, and other category teams

  • Execute ad-hoc/one off buys

  • Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development with stakeholders

  • Drive continuous improvement of global procurement processes and tools

  • Communicate and drive change globally as a change champion within the Business Excellence organization and Source to Pay Technology platform (e.g., catalog purchases within Ariba)

  • Lead resolution on issues within Source to Pay technology improvements.

  • Enable supplier integration and KPI's, driving improvement within supplier performance

  • Perform routine professional-based activities and contribute to and manage some projects.

  • Communicate with appropriate departments to clarify request and obtain appropriate supporting documentation for the purchase

  • Meet regularly with divisional customers and support functions to ensure good customer satisfaction and continuous improvement

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

  • Seek innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Experience : Minimum of 4+ years in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics.

  • Skills : Contracting and negotiations experience, outstanding verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and supply management strategies.

  • Proficiency in contract management and catalog technology platforms.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in developing and implementing RFPs and managing supplier relationships.

  • Experience with Source to Pay technology platforms.

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
